Further Reflections

It’s Thursday of Holy Week.

On this night, Jesus gathered with His disciples in an upper room in Jerusalem to share the Passover meal—a moment that would become one of the most meaningful in all of Scripture.

During that meal, Jesus did something extraordinary.

He took bread and said, “This is my body, given for you.”

Then He took the cup and said, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood.”

In that moment, Jesus was giving His disciples a way to remember what was about to happen.

Today, we call this the Lord’s Supper.

It was His way of preparing them—and us—for the cross.

As we move toward Good Friday, we are invited into that same posture of remembrance.

Tomorrow evening, we’ll gather together to reflect on the sacrifice Jesus made—the price He paid so that our sins could be forgiven. It’s a time to slow down, to be intentional, and to focus on the weight and significance of the cross.

Our Good Friday service begins at 6:00 PM, and I hope you’ll be there.

But before we gather, there’s something important we’re called to do: prepare our hearts.

Take time today to reflect on your life.

Ask God to reveal anything that needs to be brought into the light.

And if there is sin present, bring it before Him in confession.

Scripture calls us to examine ourselves as we come to the Lord’s table—not out of fear, but out of reverence. We come with hearts that are humble, grateful, and ready to remember the sacrifice of Jesus.

Good Friday is always a powerful moment.

It centers us. It humbles us. And it prepares us for the incredible celebration that is coming on Easter morning.

So as we approach the cross, let’s do so intentionally.

Let’s prepare our hearts.

Let’s fix our eyes on Jesus.

And let’s remember the sacrifice that changed everything.
