Further Reflections
On Easter Sunday morning, as the women approached the tomb to prepare Jesus’ body for burial, they encountered an unexpected sight: the stone was rolled away, and Jesus’ body was missing. Initially, they assumed someone had stolen His body. But as they looked more closely, angels appeared and asked, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; He is risen!” In this moment, everything changed. Jesus had done what He promised—He rose from the dead, defeating sin and death once and for all. For Mary Magdalene, this was a moment of confusion. She mistook Jesus for a gardener, still not fully grasping what had happened. But when Jesus called her by name, it all came rushing back—He was alive! In that instant, the reality of the resurrection broke through her grief and transformed her. It’s easy to get caught in the sorrow of Good Friday and forget that Sunday always follows. Jesus’ resurrection reminds us that death has no power over Him, and because of that, it has no power over us. This Easter, as we celebrate the risen Lord, let us remember that everything changed that morning. Jesus is alive, and because of His victory over the grave, we have new life in Him. The resurrection gives us hope, joy, and the promise of eternal life. No matter what we face, we know that Jesus has already conquered it all.
