When I arrived at Stetson last year, one of the visions that I had for the worship ministry was to be able to host a conference style event with respected worship leaders and musicians. This conference would allow the guest worship leaders to invest in our worship ministry volunteers and teach us about the developments in worship ministry across the country, introduce us to great music, but most of all, sharpen our understanding of what it truly means to worship in “Spirit and Truth”.
This year, I am excited to announce that our guest worship leader is none other than Terry Williams! Terry is the founder of Priority Worship Ministries, a ministry designed to raise awareness that worship is a Biblical priority of life. He also serves as the Music and Worship Consultant of the Florida Baptist Convention. Before founding PWM, Terry served for fourteen years as the Team Strategist of the Music & Worship Ministries at the Florida Baptist Convention. He was the Associate Pastor for Music and Worship at First Baptist Church of Ocala, Florida for over ten years, as well as other churches in Florida, Georgia, and Texas. Terry holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Stetson University in Deland, Florida and attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.
Terry is also the Director of the almost 600 member Florida Worship Choir & Orchestra. Under his leadership, this team has led worship concerts in Coventry, England, the Sydney Opera House in Sydney, Australia, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, as well as Carnegie Hall, Central Park, and Brooklyn Tabernacle in New York. They have recorded four choir and orchestra projects with Prism Music entitled: GOD OF THE AGES, GREAT I AM, ALMIGHTY GOD, and GOD OF HOPE.
Not only is Terry an accomplished worship leader and clinician, but also he has become a great mentor and friend. Terry sees the importance of investing in the lives of the next generation of worship leaders in our denomination. Again, I am excited for the privilege that Stetson Baptist has in being able to host Terry Williams.
See you all there on January 20th!
